Sunset Bay
About This Spot
Sunset Bay settles into the shore like an easy sigh, a calming pause where the ocean’s pulse slows your step and turns the day gentler. Nestled on the waterfront in San Bartolomé de Tirajana, this casual local eatery invites you to linger on simple pleasures—a quiet chat, the steady rhythm of waves, and a meal that feels thoughtful without fuss.
Here, the atmosphere is spacious and unhurried. Large windows frame endless blue, catching the light just so as it drifts through afternoon into evening. The pace moves with the tides—comfortable and welcoming, never rushed. Whether you find a table by the window or settle into a spot closer to the sand, the mood encourages a light breath and slow smiles, making space for real moments to unfold.
The kitchen reflects this laid-back approach, blending familiar flavors with touches both bold and kind. From fresh, well-seasoned bites to inventive twists on classics, each dish seems crafted to match the setting—unpretentious, satisfying, and rich with texture. Whether it's a carefully spiced salad or a hearty sandwich enjoyed alongside a sunlit view, the food complements the place’s relaxed rhythm and ocean breeze.
Drinks flow with the same easy charm. Bright cocktails and cool smoothies find a natural home here, enhancing rather than overpowering the experience. As the sun dips lower, colors deepen—not just on the horizon but across every attentive detail, from the friendly smiles of the staff to the gentle entertainment of a street-smart cat weaving through the tables.
Sunset Bay is a spot where the joy comes from connection: to the place, to those you share the time with, and to the small discoveries that make a simple meal feel like something more. It feels like a well-kept local secret unfolding slowly, one shared table at a time.

After a few days of pasta and pizza without toppings, this was a breath of fresh air. I nagged my friends to go out to Playa del Ingles just to go here, and was not disappointed! We got a table with a view of the beach and the sea, which was really pretty! We could also see a cute cat exploring below, which provided great entertainment for our meal :) This was the best vegan food I had in Gran Canaria, aside from a considerably more expensive meal elsewhere! I was very impressed with the options available and the waitresses' knowledge of what was vegan and what wasn't (being able to double-check was very reassuring!). I had a mocktail which was delicious, and the spring rolls were really good too. For mains I got the fried tofu with vegetables in curry sauce, which was delicious. It came with rice and was a decent portion. The food took a while to arrive but the waitresses were very busy, and they were very friendly and understanding. And the food was absolutely worth the wait, with great prices! My friends ordered pizza and enjoyed their meals too, although not the best pizza they'd had so far on the trip - but of course, since it's not an Italian restaurant! Not sure why they went with the pizza anyway, since there were so many great Singaporean and Asian food options on offer! Unfortunately there weren't any vegan options for dessert but honestly I was just so grateful to have had some variety. If you're vegan or veggie and fed up of chips, pizza and pasta, come here! Great drinks and food, and really friendly staff.

Great place for lunch! The burger was a lot better than it looks. If it had a better bun it would be almost perfect. The meat is very good! My girlfriend had the club sandwich which she said was delicious. The fries were also good! I recommend this place for lunch.

Wow, what a gem! Located on the sea front, you can watch the waves roll in while dining which is exactly what you want while on holiday! Attentive waiting staff who got drinks for us as soon as we sat down. We originally wanted to order a pork dish but after being recommended the Espetada original grill, we decided to give it a go. The meat was succulent & tender and portion size was perfect. We shared this dish and the bacon cheeseburger which was also delicious. We had the Singapore chicken strips as a starter to share and at the end of the meal we were given a shot of honey rum which ended the meal nicely. Food & drinks were reasonably priced, atmosphere, location and friendly staff all make this a 10/10 restaurant. A must visit when in Playa Del Ingles.

We've been here 3 times to eat during our stay, every time was a good experience, the service is great and very hard working, the food is delicious, they even had a show on, on Saturday. And has some very good options for vegans.

I chose Sunset Bay as the reviews were very good. The restaurant was very quiet, I was the only diner. The spicy chicken was very tasty with a good bit of spice, prepared at a medium spice level, however, I found it to be overly salty. The waitress was very kind and offered to prepare the meal again but I’d nearly finished by then so I declined. I also had a nice cocktail. A reasonably priced restaurant with a lovely view of the beach.
